Product Review: XSitePro Version 2

Overview:

XSitePro has been around for a few years now, although I did not personally use it until about two years ago.  I had been using web authoring software from another vendor for several years working around some quirks that I thought were present in all web authoring and development software programs.  I did, until I came across XSitePro. 

I was apprehensive about spending the money on another program since I had just upgraded the current software I was using at the time.  But I decided to take the plunge on a recommendation from a fellow associate.  I was more than pleasantly surprised.  XSitePro is more than easy it's the easiest software I have ever used for site development, and I've used them all in the past eleven years that I have been designing sites.

If Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 is the standard for commercial site development then XSitePro is the standard for Internet Marketers Small and Home Based Online Businesses.  There are many features to XSitePro that put it at the forefront of Internet marketing, such as built in tools for SEO, affiliate marketing tools, Google AdSense automation, multiple page designs, hundreds of templates, article imports of multiple files, standardized page creation and much more.

I don't know want to sound like a commercial and I do want to maintain my objectivity but this is the only package I would recommend for anyone building multiple affiliate sites or multiple mini-sites because of it's ease of use and simplicity.

  Version 2 Functionality:

There is considerable more functionality with Version 2 over Version 1 with completely new functions added.  For example, you can now bring in RSS feeds into your site.  There is a substantial list of sites within the software, or you can bring in your own.  This is extremely important for the search engines as it will automatically update your content as new feeds are added to your subscription.

You can also create your own xml feeds from your own information.  This is a major step for having your articles on other sites that now show a link to your site.

Version 2 Update:

Version 2 of XSitePro raises the bar considerably with new features that are only available in higher end software or require special programming.  For example up to this point you would need to acquire software or a service to create your own news feed from your content.  That's not the case with Version 2 as you only need a few clicks and you are done.

+ How is ease of use determined?

Ease of use is measured by difficulty levels in implementing standard procedures such as creating graphics or formating text, as examples.

 Scale 1-10 Rating: 9.5

I rate this software a 9.5, for ease of use, only because I don't rate anything at a 10.  Every software program can be tweaked and modified to be better and this is my rationale for no 10's.  The 9.5 rating is justified because this is a very simple program that anyone can use to build a one page or a 1,000 page site.  Of course along with the program are video tutorials that provide insight into every detail of operating and maximizing the software's capabilities.

Along with the video tutorials are a very active forum and dedicated help desk if you run into any trouble.  Most everything is covered in the Knowledge bas and Tutorials but if you need help the Help Desk is very responsive.

Quality/Performance: Scale 1-10 Rating 9

I would rate the quality of the software, that is the look, feel and usability of it a 9.  The XSitePro interface is uncluttered and simple yet the functions are extremely powerful.  One of the best features of the program is the file import function.  This enables you to pull in 100's of articles and content within a few seconds.  Lets say that you belong to a PLR site and you want to bring in 50 or so articles.  Instead of entering them in one by one you can import all 50 within seconds, exactly formatted to fit your site, inclusive of any special text or keywords you want or need for each article.

XSitePro Sites are based on templates which are supplied within the software and are easily and economically purchased on the Internet.  If you are handy with PhotoShop you can create your own very easily.  The quality of the templates are very good although I would suggest that you either buy different templates or create your own to stand out from the crowd.  As I had mentioned earlier Joel Comm's Instant AdSense Templates are very, very good.  Well designed with a professional layout and extremely easy to use.  See my review of Joel Comm's Instant AdSense Templates here.

Cons:

One of the only criticisms that I have about XSite Pro is that there are some functions that the software cannot perform such as true hot spots for areas within the site and the table function is somewhat limited.  These are not show stoppers,  as for creating high quality web sites quickly there really isn't anything better.  There has to be some sacrifice for the shear simplicity of the software. 

Version 2 Update:

One of the main drawbacks to Version 1 was limited table functionality and hotspots of which I mentioned above.  In version 2, table functionality has been considerably modified with many different settings to produce just about any variation that you require.  Although there is no true hotspot functionality it's almost not necessary because of the hundreds of new templates that are available in dozens of layouts that allow the hotspot function to exist.  For example placing hypertext or graphics in the header has been greatly improved and simplified.

Overall Rating: Scale 1-10 Rating 9.5

All things considered this is an excellent program for anyone that is marketing or running a business on the Internet and needs to have a high quality web site quickly.  XSitePro will get the job done with very little effort.
