Blogging for Profit and Pleasure
When the "Internet" became a household word, those who wanted a presence on the Internet
worried about the costs and effort it took to set up a website. Whether fun or money was the goal, to have a
listing on the Net, you needed to have a website at that time. Amateur websites were more affordable, but were not
terribly appealing to the visitor. The blog was concocted to be, in effect, a "poor man's website" that would give
you a place on the Internet minus the expense and hassle of getting a website. From one mans blog to the next the
blog spot became a method for people to relate to one another on the Internet. It was free even though it was a
little drab; but not for long.
After a short time the unassuming blog spot could have different fonts, photographs, and other effects that
previously were only available on websites. Very soon web enthusiast had the ability to have their own blogs to
talk about various issues and sometimes to generate revenue. Compared to a website, a blog was less difficult to
start - and it wasn't long before everyplace you look blogs were springing up on every subject under the sun.
Anyone can start blogging. This includes YOU - even given very little knowledge regarding the Internet. You can
begin doing it as a hobby.
Pick a blog that appeals to you and begin leaving comments. This will teach you how to use the commands and the
basics of blogging. As your skill level improves, start your own blog and I guarantee that you will find a world of
entertainment. In addition, you can make some money at it if you find that appealing.
You will be more likely to succeed if you're blogging on a topic of interest to you. Before you launch, spend some
time to choose a subject of interest to you. One man's diversion for example, can make blogging a fun and rewarding
endeavor.
You can initially talk about some personal experiences. After a while, you can seek out news, hold exhibitions,
network, make friends, and so many other such things through your blog spot. There are lots of other people who
would love to forge friendships with those who share their passions and blogging provides the perfect way to do so.
You have your fun and you gain immense knowledge at the same time.
When you decide to the time is right you can monetize your blog so it can earn you money. By now you will have
earned some devotees who will advance your contacts even further.
The simplest way is to include Google Adsense on your blog, thereby automating the monetization. If you want to put
in a little more effort you could start selling e-information products through your blog. The blog spot that you
created for entertainment could wind up earning you a real good sum of money by the end of the day.
