Accepting Payment On The Internet

You do not need to accept credit cards to be in business on the Internet but according to most Internet marketers and business owners you will increase your chances for success, as much as 300% at a minimum, if you do. There are some very easy ways to accept payment on the Internet we have outlined some of the most popular and easiest to implement below.

PayPal Logo

By far the easiest and least expensive way to accept payment in many different forms is of course PayPal, which is an eBay business, but not just limited to just eBay transactions.

It doesn’t cost anything to start utilizing PayPal as a payment method. Your customers do not need to belong to PayPal to pay you by credit card or check which makes it the most economical way to get started taking secured credit card payments for your products or services.

It’s pretty easy to sign up, just have a checking account and credit card available to create your account. You won’t be charged anything but PayPal needs a bank account to process funds to and from your account. Be sure to set up a “sellers” business account. There are full details here.

Note:

Some seasoned marketers complain that PayPal is just too expensive to use because of their fees.  From experience on both sides of the equation and working in the credit card industry I can assure you that in order to get the best rates on credit card processing you need BIG volume.  Shaving an eighth or sixteenth off your rate doesn't mean much for lower volumes.  Starting out with PayPal and even staying with PayPal over the long run will not spell failure for your online business, in fact you will benefit by it.

Another way to begin accepting payments is to sign up with ClickBank. ClickBank is a little different in that their primary business is a repository of information-based products or Internet based software that is digitally downloaded.  It’s the perfect place to start selling your own information based products.   According to their site:

“ClickBank has quickly become a global leader in the sale of digital goods online with more than 10,000 product publishers and over 100,000 registered affiliates. Each day, ClickBank completes nearly 20,000 orders from more than 200 countries around the world. ClickBank.com is consistently ranked as one of the most highly trafficked sites on the internet.”

You can also just be an affiliate for ClickBank and have access to thousands of products or you can list your own info-based eBook. There is a cost however but the benefit far outweighs the cost. ClickBank is the main source for info-based products on the Internet, so it gets a lot of highly targeted traffic. If you do a good job promoting your product, you will move up the ladder at ClickBank. Having a quick selling product and getting to be first in your category on ClickBank means a lot of sales, an has the potential to easily be in the thousands. ClickBank is the premiere information product marketer on the Internet. Join by clicking here ClickBank Sign-Up

Another service which deserves mention is PayDotCom.com.  PayDotCom was started by a top Internet Marketer for other Internet marketers.  It is similar to ClickBank in that it provides a showcase and a payment device for information and Internet based products.  The PayDotCom website states the following:

“PayDotCom.com is a new online marketplace and will catalog thousands of products and services, both physical products and digital products. If you are looking to sell your products, eBook, software, or services online, you have come to the right place. Or, if you are just looking to make extra money selling some great products from our marketplace as an affiliate, we make it so easy.”

As with ClickBank there is a small fee to join Pay Dot Com, however it’s a one time fee payable only if you add more products. Additional products are unlimited after the set-up fee. The other major difference is that PayDotCom is linked up to PayPal and the fee structure is different than ClickBank. You control refunds and payments to your affiliates with a simple payment process through PayPal. The great part about PayDotCom is the ease in which you can put a product on it to sell or become an affiliate for another product. Additionally PayDotCom makes the process of finding affiliates to sell your product easy. Through PDC you can very easily set up your own affiliate program and finding affiliates is simple because they are other PDC members.
