What are Google Adsense Ads?

When you visit a website that displays Google AdSense® Ads they usually appear at the top of the page, to the right or left of the page or at the bottom of the page. The illustration to the right shows the placement of an AdSense® Ads that are vertically aligned on the right side of the page. Each time a visitor clicks on an ad the website owner gets paid a commission from Google. AdSense® Advertising has become extremely popular because it is a "passive" way of earning revenue on your website. In this case "passive" literally means that all you have to do is set the ads up on your site and you earn commissions. To illustrate this point further, think of your website as a newspaper page with articles and advertisements. The difference is the reader has nothing more to do than click the ad anonymously to get more information. Depending on the ad type, Google will pay the website publisher for the click or the purchase.
