Home Business: Twitter Your Way To More Traffic
by Rick Carbone
Have you been scratching your head and wondering how to get more traffic to your home business website, that
doesn’t cost anything? There are lots of ways to get traffic to your site that are economical but few that
are free. Organic listings with the major search engines are the best since they cost zero. They major
problem is that it could take months perhaps years to get a good listing for even one keyword phrase. Yes
there are SEO firms that can expedite the process but they do charge you for the service of course. I have
written many articles on that process in the past, however as I have said it can take some time.
My latest favorite, besides Article Marketing, is Twitter. How can this be? A social networking site that
will work for home business? Yes. Twitter is growing in leaps and bounds as is FaceBook. I like Twitter
for it’s simplicity and raw ability to provide a constant flow of traffic as well as a means of instant messaging a
group of followers that specifically signed up to hear what you say. In Internet Marketing terms it doesn’t
get any better than this. As you build your “follower” list you are building a group of potential customers
as well. Accumulating followers is akin to finding potential customers, the difference on Twitter is not the hard
sell but the soft sell.
You can use your Twitter account to communicate your message as well. For example let’s say that you have
a political blog that you want to promote to a wider audience. You can create a Twitter account around your
political preference and actively search for others who are” tweeting” about the same. In this way you are
building a following for your political blog. Use your Twitter account to publicize your posts as they come
out with a url back to your blog.
If this sounds confusing it really isn’t. There are many different ways to accomplish this and a number of
free products that can automate the Twitter process in between your manual Tweets. You can check our site for
products centered around Twitter here.
