Don’t Waste Your Time And Money On TurnKey Websites

by Rick Carbone

I’m sure I’m going to get some nasty email about this but let the truth be told. You don’t need expensive monthly subscription websites to make money on the Internet.

First, unless you are super lazy, you can do most of the work yourself. Yes it is time consuming but honestly would you rather spend a little extra time or spend a lot of your hard earned money? I’ve tried both ways and I can tell you that turn key websites are nice but unless you’ve a) got money to burn or b) your time is worth nothing then read a little further.

I’m not saying that the companies and marketers that sell turn key sites are doing anything wrong, because they aren’t. They are just counting on the fact that you want to get a whole bunch of professional looking sites up quickly and that you will pay for the privilege to do so. There’s nothing wrong with that. I’m saying you don’t need it and it’s not all that hard to do it either.

If you want to take the "no-cost" route you can do that very easily by setting up a blog through Blogger. It’s free because you don’t have to host it. If you have a hosting account you can create a WordPress blog. Back to the cheap route. Before you set up your blog you need to pick a niche or in simpler terms, "What’s the Blog all about?" You can even do your own research however most often than not people create websites and blog about things that they have an interest in or passion for.

If you are an avid golfer you might want to set up a blog about how to correct that horrible slice or hook. Once you have picked a topic you can then create your Blogger/Blogspot blog. Blogger is owned by Google and it’s a free service.

Now you have a golfing blog. Okay what’s next? Content, lots of golfing content. Articles, information and resources for golf. You have several basic ways you can go with articles. A) you can write them yourself or B) If you don’t like to write you can get golf content automatically to your blog by using a service or C) Use a ghost writing service. You’d be surprised at how inexpensive it is to get professionally written articles.

Okay, you’ve got the blog, the niche and the content. How do you make money? You monetize the site/blog. Using Blogger it’s a cinch because you can populate your blog with Google Adsense Ads. These are the little text ads you see in various places on a website. They will say that they are Google Ads. Each time someone, other than you, clicks on a Google AdSense ad you get paid. The more clicks the more you get paid. The other way to monetize your site is to be an affiliate and find products that compliment your blog niche that you can sell and earn a commission on. Google has you covered here as well with the Google Affiliate Network, but you can use any ad network you want such as Commission Junction, LinkShare, Kolimbo or dozens of other Affiliate managers.

Once you have done all of this you have now sown the seeds for earning an income. I won’t lie to you and tell you that you’ll be making money in 24 hours because you won’t, it takes time. It takes time to get indexed by the search engines, and then ranked for the search results of your keywords or niche related content. Once you do though you’ll be getting free traffic to your site with targeted visitors. It’s not uncommon for these types of sites to earn several hundred dollars a month. So you can see that if you had ten or twenty of these sites you could be making several thousand per month.

This isn’t the most expedient route to financial security but it’s the cheapest and safest and it will be the most sustainable in the long run.

Best of luck!
