Does Article Writing Really Work?

The right question to ask is: How well does article writing work and in what application does it work best?  The answer is that article writing works on a number of different levels and depending upon how much you write and in what article diectories you place your articles, article writing/marketing works very well. 

The fact is that a well placed article on the front page of a major article directory can and will bring in hundreds if not thousands of back-links to your website.  It will also bring traffic to your site as well.  In my opinion and from what I have experienced, Article Writing is an extremely effective tool for creating backlinks to your site which has a direct and immediate bearing on your positioning within a search engine.  It will also bring  traffic to your site, but not of the same magnitude as it does in creating backlinks.  For starters, backlinks can provide substantial weight to search engine ranking.  Any time a website has hundreds or even thousand of back-links, search engines take notice.  You can actually see backlinks to your site growing at a phenomenal rate.  What you won't see is a corresponding amount of traffic in the short term.  Traffic takes more time to build and is a longer term strategy when using Article Writing as a method of traffic production.
