Can You Really Make Money With Google AdSense®?
by Rick Carbone
Okay here's the bottom line, yes you can make money with Google AdSense ads. Now that I've gotten that out
of the way, the very next question is how is it done? Okay, that's a fair question but do you have a few minutes to
read this article, because it will take some time to explain it?
I have been an AdSense publisher for several years now and I can attest to making money with Google's AdSense
program. It's not as easy as you might think or have been told it is. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication
to get it done. First of all I'll state the obvious - you must have a website to display the ads on. I know it
sounds so simplistic but believe it or not I have been asked that question. The larger issue is, how much money can
you make? Can you quit your day job now or should you wait until you receive your first check?
Keep the day job!
That being said, I want to qualify the remark by saying that the good folks at Google have a great way of
helping you create an income but you really need to test and test to find the appropriate niche to settle into.
What I'm saying is that although Google provides many tools to help you analyze your ads, you need to find the
right niche to actually make money. If you already have a website it's really easy to put ads on your site. Where
to put them is anyone's guess, although Google offers suggestions based on publisher feedback about what works
best. If you already have a site you can sign up by clicking here. Once you do have an AdSense
account you can easily access a wealth of information about AdSense and how it works. Google provides tons of
information about their products so be sure to use it.
Finding The Right Niche:
There are a number of ways to do this.
- Sign up with Google Adwords and use the Google keyword suggestion tool. This will tell you how many people
are looking for information that contain your selected keywords. It doesn't actually tell you in raw numbers,
it displays a graphic that indicates high or low click activity. It's a decent tool and it's free.
- Get a free download of my ebook, GoOnline 1-2-3, and find free resources for keyword volumes such as the
VRE Toolbar.
- If you are serious about AdSense you really need a tool like KeyWord
Elite to source keywords and develop keyword rich content.
- Do a standard Google search for a particular keyword or keyword phrase and pay attention to the number
related sources come up in the results. This will give you an idea how competitive the keyword is.
